Bamboo Day

Went down to the neighbor's to take him up on the offer of bamboo harvesting. I need some for a drying rack in the tiny house, a roof for the outhouse, and a mast and boom for a small sailboat. Got all the branches off and put the poles up to season. Probably gonna run the foliage through the chipper for mulch.

Mosquito Abatement

Mosquitoes get to be a big problem without diligence around here. There are plenty of places that catch rain water, both intentional and not. The University of North Carolina uses BTI to combat mosquitoes. It's a bacterial attack that stops larvae from becoming adults. It only works on mosquitoes and fungus gnats. It's safe for all other beings. Pictured here are dunks and bits. Dunks last for 30 days and bits only 7, but bits are easier to spread in some places, like under the outdoor shower.

Camp Development

Development is coming right along. The fish cleaning station is now augmented with a sink from my time in an RV park in North Carolina. Now there's a screen tent and electricity. There's a leak in the supply line so I've since removed the wood from the sink. It's naked! I hope to address the leak this week. There is now outdoor laundry capability, and the kitchen progresses. If we can get some days of sun, I'd like to finish painting the outdoor shower so it won't degrade so fast.
